Last year I saw Cassidoo’s blogvent where she wrote one post a day from December 1st to December 24th. I thought to myself that there was no way I could get enough ideas to write a small blog post every day for a whole month, and I still think that.
But I’m currently on vacation. I’ve got some time, I’m in a nice cabin on a farm where I’m visited by a cat, three dogs, and some chickens. I can probably write a few words a day!
Sometimes it feels like I’m constantly writing about the same thing, which is that I need to write more. Sometimes writing about it helps me publish a few other posts, sometimes it doesn’t. Most of the time it helps a little for a while. Maybe I just need to write about this every month, and I would unlock the ultimate writing motivation hack!
If by the end of the week I can have five more posts on the blog, that’d be great. I already know what I’m writing about tomorrow, and I have one other idea already, for the other two, we’ll see what comes when I’m in front of the keyboard.
A few last thoughts to make this post a bit longer (it’s weird, but reading only the first 4 paragraphs, it didn’t feel like it deserved the title of “blog post”). Last year I wrote 26 posts, up from 20 posts the year before. This year, this is entry #6, so I’m in some trouble to write at least as much as in 2025, but if I get to #10 by the end of the week and I like the experience, maybe I’ll try to have one or two other weeks like this before the end of the year and tada, back to 20 posts easily.
I took the opportunity to read again the four blog posts that I just referenced, and it was fun. It’s nice to see how I wrote even just one or two years ago. I cringed a bit on one of them, smiled and chuckled on two others, and nodded along on the last one. Figuring out which ones created each reaction will be left as an exercise to the reader.
